Alex Skarlatos
Alek Skarlatos, born October 10, 1992, is an actor and former US Army National Guard soldier who is best known for foiling a gunman’s attempt to attack civilians on a Paris-bound train from Amsterdam via Brussels in Aug. 2015. He, along with his comrades, Spencer Stone and Anthony Sadler, was awarded the United States Army’s Soldier’s Medal from President Barack Obama shortly after the events on the train. Most notably, however, Alek, Spencer, and Anthony would go on to play themselves in the film adaptation of the events in Clint Eastwood’s 2018 feature ‘The 15:17 to Paris.’ Prior to the film, Alek star rose as a public figure when he appeared on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in 2015. In August 2019, Alek announced that he would run for Congress for the state of Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District.
