Anitta (b. Larissa de Macedo Machado) has fast become one of the biggest names in music. After finding success with her debut single, “Meiga e Abusada” in 2012, she has quickly climbed to the top of the charts (and the top of the hearts) of Latin music fans everywhere. Her 2013 single, “Show das Poderosas,” established her as a legit superstar, and her fame has only increased since then. With her debut self-titled album arriving in 2013, she continued to perform and record in her native Portuguese. In the mid-2010s, she began collaborating with a range of international artists and began recording in Spanish, allowing her to find more fans in the Latin world. In 2019, she released a trilingual album, opening more ears to her music. In 2022, her Spanish single “Envovlver,” began to top charts, including the Global Top 50 on Spotify (the first Brazilian act and first Latin artist to do so.) With numerous awards and nominations under her belt, Anitta is just getting started.
