He was a boy, she was a girl, can we make it any more obvious? Even after years of being just friends, Ryan Cabrera, 34, and Avril Lavigne, 32, can’t seem to quit each other! In fact, it appears their relationship is only getting better — and steamier. The singers were spotted out on a “romantic” date night, according to E! News, during which they gazed into each other’s eyes over dinner at Chalk Point Kitchen in NYC on Nov. 14. “Avril was extremely affectionate to Ryan, giving him cute hugs in the booth and kisses,” an insider told the entertainment magazine. “They seemed in love.”
We’ve had our eye on the punk princess and rocker boy for awhile now, probably because it’s so obvious that they’re feeling each other but neither will admit it publicly just yet. Avril and Ryan enjoyed another date night in NYC on Aug. 17 when they were photographed sitting side by side at STK Midtown. An onlooker at the time claims they saw Avril and Ryan “kiss” a few times over the course of their intimate meal. Avril normally doesn’t spend her free time in the Big Apple, so she was probably there to support her man who was traveling on the MY2K Tour.

In case you need a refresher, Avril and Ryan started getting closer when her marriage to Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroeger, crumbled. Ryan was her shoulder to cry on, but we’re happy to say that she and Chad have remained good friends since their split. As bummed out as we are about their divorce, we’ll always have their collaborative music to listen to when we’re down. Now that Ryan has entered the picture in a seemingly serious way, we can’t wait to see if Avril and him make sweet music together as well!
