The 2023 Berlin Film Festival promises to be an international showcase of cinematic excellence, with 200 films from around the world set to premiere during the ten-day event from Feb. 16-26. The festival, also known as the Berlinale, is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, drawing filmmakers, actors, and film enthusiasts from around the globe.
Adding to the excitement is the appointment of Kristen Stewart as the jury president. In a Feb. 16 press conference, she expressed both her excitement and apprehension about her role as the festival’s president.
“I guess in full transparency, I’m kind of shaking,” the Twilight star confessed. “It’s not a weight that I don’t fully understand. I’m just ready, ready to be changed by all the films and changed by the people around us. I think that’s what we’re here for.”
With Kristen at the helm, the festival promises to be a celebration of groundbreaking cinema, with the potential to unearth new talent and showcase bold and innovative storytelling. From Hollywood blockbusters to foreign arthouse films, the 2023 Berlin Film Festival is a must-see event for any cinephile.
