Harry Styles’ acceptance speech after he won the Grammy award for album of the year caused an uproar on social media Sunday night.
“I think on nights like tonight it’s important for us to remember there is no such thing as ‘best’ in music. I don’t think any of us sit in the studio making decisions on what is going to get us one of these,” Styles said, referring to the award in his hands, which he won for the album “Harry’s House.”
But it was the last sentence of his speech that riled up social media users, who took different interpretations of what he meant: “This doesn’t happen to people like me very often and this is so, so nice. Thank you very much,” Styles said, before handing the microphone off to his co-writers Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson.

“Friends and family have been joking with him about getting older and it was Louis [Tomlinson] actually who brought up the reference and Harry thought it was hilarious and thought that he would have some fun with it. So he did the tweet. His intentions were in no way to get Taylor, Calvin [Harris] or anyone else upset! He just thought it was hysterical,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

It seems like Harry’s tweet was all in good fun. But considering Harry and Taylor’s relationship didn’t end in the most positive way, we were definitely surprised to see him quote one of her lyrics. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Harry and Taylor dated at the end of 2012, but broke up right after the New Year when a romantic vacation went horribly wrong. Recently, Harry’s been linked to Kendall Jenner, 20, and Taylor has been dating Calvin Harris for quite some time. They may have moved on since their epic split in 2013, but it doesn’t seem like their fans have done the same. Even something like one quoting the other’s lyrics gets their fans fired up! At least Harry meant not harm by it.
