Sarah Jessica Parker at Joan Rivers’ Memorial
Joan Rivers died at the age of 81 on Sept. 4, 2014 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. On Aug. 28, she stopped breathing during a minor throat procedure at Yorkville Manhattan. She was resuscitated, but put on life support and transferred to Mount Sinai. Unfortunately, she never woke up from her medically induced coma and was pronounced dead just one week later. The medical examiner confirmed that Joan died from brain damage due to lack of oxygen.
After Joan’s body was cremated on Sept. 7, there was a private memorial held for her in NYC. About 1,500 people attended, including celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker (pictured above). SJP wore a black dress, adorned with white polka dots, along with a sheer black cardigan. There were plenty of other celebrities in attendance at the event, as well.
