“I didn’t get the ‘wear all black’ email,” Kylie wrote on Instagram following the event. In the photo which she posted, Kylie struck a pose on the carpet, standing next to her mom, Kris Jenner, 59, Kim, and her other two sisters, Kourtney Kardashian36, and Khloe Kardashian, 31. With Kylie’s light ensemble in striking contrast to the rest of her family’s, it truly does look like it was planned to be at least slightly funny. Kylie’s look was, unsurprisingly, also much more youthful than her mother’s and sisters’. While the other women went with looks that were (somewhat more) full coverage, young Ky put her mile-long legs on full display, rocking the heck out of that mini dress.

Noticeably absent from the carpet was Kylie’s pal, Kendall Jenner, 19, who may or may not have accompanied her sister in the non-black trend. It’s only fitting that the fam was on hand to celebrate the iconic Cosmo mag, as the six women graced the cover for the November issue, with the title, “The First Family.”

What do you think of Kylie’s trend-breaking? Should she have worn black?
