There’s nothing more inspirational than a kick-butt female athlete! Maria Sharapova takes the spotlight as one of the best female tennis stars, and has tackled the world’s most elite competitions from Wimbledon to the Olympics. While tennis is no easy sport to learn, Sharapova began her training when she was just 4 years old, in her home place of Sochi, Russia. Before long she was off to her first tennis clinic in Moscow at age 6, and from there went on to win dozens of junior tennis competitions.
Beyond her young competing days, Maria achieved victory at Wimbledon, the Australian Open, the US Open and the Olympic games, where she won a silver medal at the summer Games in London, 2012. She announced she was expecting a child in Apr. 2022.
