Uptown Funk is gonna give it to ya. Mark Ronson is a British-American DJ, songwriter, producer, and record executive. He may be best known for his collaborations with Bruno Mars (“Uptown Funk”), Amy Winehouse (“Rehab”) and for co-writing “Shallow,” the Academy Award-winning song from the 2018 remake of ‘A Star Is Born.’ This star – i.e. Mark – was born in London, and raised in New York City. After his parents divorced, his mother married Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones, who helped develop Mark’s love of music. He cut his teeth DJing for NYC’s hip hop club scene in the late 1990s. In the early 200s, he began composing and playing his own music. He also began his work as a producer, working with acts like Lily Allen, Christina Aguilera, and Amy Winehose. In the mid 2010s, Mark teamed with Bruno Mars for “Uptown Funk,” a massive hit that helped introduce him to a wider audience.
