On March 22, 2021, disaster struck at the King Soopers supermarket in Boulder, Colorado. 9 innocent people and one police officer were shot and killed by Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, a 21-year-old man who was in possession of a Ruger AR-556 semi-automatic rifle. Alissa engaged in a mass shooting at the supermarket, and took the lives of 10 people at the scene. The victims’ ages ranged from 20-65, all of whom had beautiful lives of their own, and had those precious lives taken away.

Mr. Alissa’s actions have resulted in another horrific tragedy to add to the list of mass shootings in America. Over recent years, these public gun violence attacks attest to the fact that the nation’s gun laws must be re-evaluated, and changed. If it weren’t for Alissa’s ability to purchase a lethal military weapon without any sort of psychological evaluation prior, then this terrible event may not have occurred.
