Michelle Obama got quite the surprise when a little girl handed her a resume at the White House's annual 'Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day' event. Instead of asking a question, the little girl offered the First Lady her father's resume because he has been unemployed for three years. So sweet. Michelle Obama, 50, made 10-year-old Charlotte Bell's day when she accepted her father's resume to help him find a job after three years of unemployment.
Michelle Obama Accepts Resume From Little Girl
On April 24, First Lady Michelle hosted the White House’s annual “Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day” event.
As part of the event, Michelle took questions from an audience full of children about the special day. However, when she called on one little girl, she got quite the surprise.
Charlotte Bell, 10, did not have a question. Instead, she passed a very important piece of paper to Michelle.
“My dad’s been out of a job for three years and I wanted to give you his resume,” the little girl said.
When Michelle realized what was happening, she quickly put the mic away and embraced the little girl. They spoke privately very briefly before the little girl returned to her seat, which is when Michelle let the audience know that it was a private matter.
“Well, it’s a little private. But she’s doing something for her dad,” Michelle explained.
What a smart little girl! Hopefully, Michelle will be able to pass that resume on to someone who is able to hire Charlotte’s father.
