NYC Helicopter Crash 2019
New York firefighters respond to the scene where a helicopter was reported to have crash landed on top of a building in midtown Manhattan, Monday, June 10, 2019, in New York. The scary crash took place on 7th avenue between 51st and 52nd streets at around 2:00 p.m. local time. Dozens of emergency vehicles raced down the New York City streets and arrived at the scene, where one person was almost immediately pronounced dead. The crash took place in the busy, midtown area of New York City in the middle of the workday, so people began flooding outside of builidings to get a closer look at what was happening. The building that the helicopter landed on was a 54-story skyscraper, and it was not immediately confirmed why the pilot made the decision to land on the roof, which did not contain a landing pad.
