Jen and Ben announced their divorce at the end of June, just after their 10th wedding anniversary, and five months after Jillian decided to end her marriage to Patrick. Knowing she and her former co-star were going through similar times, Jennifer reached out to Patrick, and they confided in each other over coffee, according to OK! magazine.
“As soon as they started talking, the spark was evident to both of them,” the mag’s source claims, adding that there had also been chemistry between the two when they co-starred in Valentine’s Day in 2009. “Jen was relieved — and excited.” While Ben reportedly cheated on the actress with their nanny, Christine Ouzounian, Patrick was also allegedly unfaithful, but Jennifer isn’t letting that get to her.
“Patrick has been treating her like a queen,” the source explained. “It’s refreshing after Ben, who made her feel like a nag and a nuisance.” So far, OK! reports the the romance has been mostly long distance, but they’ve been keeping in touch via Skype and text message. “Jen is so happy. She’s almost like a teenager with a crush. It’s been so long since she’s felt this way with anyone,” the insider revealed.
Still, both actors have three kids with their exes, and have been spotted looking quite amicable with their former spouses on more than one occasion. “[Patrick’s] torn,” the source said. “Because he feels guilty about his kids. But his feelings for Jen are growing.” Looks like we’ll have to keep an eye out for any sightings of these two together!
