Slender Man Stabbing Victim Recovery: Payton Leutner Returns To School

Payton’s physical wounds have healed, but only time can heal her emotional scars. She has made a remarkable recovery, after being lured into the woods and repeatedly stabbed by her two friends on May 31, 2014.

Payton is trying to get on with her life and has returned to school, according to the Daily Mail.

“Payton is doing very well at school. She’s working hard and enjoying her studies,” family spokesman, Steve Lyons, told the outlet. “Physically her wounds have healed and she’s strong. Emotionally it’s going to be a lifelong process and they’re taking it one day at a time.”

We can’t imagine how hard it was for Payton to endure this. We’re so glad she is doing so well.

Payton’s Parents Are Attending The Court Proceedings

As for Payton’s parents, they have been trying to process this terrible incident by attending the preliminary court hearing currently underway.

“Payton’s mother and father have been attending court,” Steve told the outlet. “They’re doing so because they felt they need to move forward.”

He continued to say, “As difficult as it is to hear these horrific acts, they’ve worked so closely with the District Attorney that there’s very little they weren’t aware of. To hear it and see it at the proceedings is horrific but it’s helping them with the healing process.”

Those poor parents.

The two girls who tried to murder Payton — because they were hoping to win the approval of sinister fictional character, the Slender Man — may be tried as adults and face first degree murder charges.

The judge is expected to reach his verdict by early March, according to Daily Mail.

Hopefully, justice will prevail for Payton and her family.
