There will only be one Shaquille O’Neal. The 7’1-tall NBA Champion is a living legend, a best-selling musician, a movie star and a pop culture icon. From his debut in the NBA in 1992, Shaq has taken over the world. After spending four years with the Orlando Magic, he joined the Los Angeles Lakers to pick up three NBA Championships alongside Kobe Bryant. After tensions between Shaq and the “Black Mamba” got to a boiling point, he joined the Miami Heat, and his fourth NBA title followed in 2006. After spending a season-and-a-half with the Phoenix Suns, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers for one season, before landing with the Boston Celtics for the 2010-11 season. By then, Shaq knew it was time, and he hung up his jersey.
If that were all, then Shaq would ride into the sunset knowing he has lived a fulfilled life. However, Shaq has appeared movies (Kazaam, Steel, Blue Chips), released five studio albums (1993’s Shaq Disels has been certified platinum), was the focus of the cult-classic Shaq-Fu, launched his own Big & Tall clothing line, pursued numerous charitable efforts and has, for the most part, been everyone’s favorite big man.
