Pics Of The Summer Games – Hollywood Life

Thank you, Rio de Janeiro! The Brazil city became the capital of the sports world in August 2016 when it hosted the Summer Olympics. Over 11,200 athletes from 205 different National Olympics Committees took part in one of the most captivating games in recent history. The United States topped the medal chart with 46 gold medals and 121 medals overall, the most for any other country. It was also the last summer Olympics for swimming sensations Michael Phelps, who closed out his Olympic career with a total of 28 medals. It was also the coming-out party for Katie Ledecky, who won four Olympic Gold medals (and one silver) during these games. It was also the last Olympics for Usain Bolt. The “World’s Fastest Man” closed out the 2016 Olympics with a “triple-triple,” winning three sprinting gold medals in three consecutive Olympics (though, he would be stripped of his 4×100 relay gold in January 2017 after a teammate tested positive for performance enhancing substances.) Overall, it was a fabulous display of athletic ability and sportsmanship.
