‘Shrill’
‘Shrill’ season 1 debuted on Hulu in March 2019. The series, from executive producers Lorne Michaels and Elizabeth Banks, became an instant critical darling. ‘Shrill’ stars ‘Saturday Night Live’s Aidy Bryant as Annie. Aidy is also co-writer and co-executive producer. The show also features Folly Adewope as Fran, Luka Jones as Ryan, Ian Owens as Amadi, John Cameron Mitchell as Gabe, and more. The official synopsis states that ‘Shrill’ follows Annie, a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body. Annie is trying to start her career while juggling bad boyfriends, a sick parent, and a perfectionist boss. The series begins with Annie winding up pregnant and she weighs the pros and cons of having a child with her hook-up buddy.
