‘Transplant’ is a new Canadian drama that has been acquired by NBC. The show follows Dr. Bashir Hamed (Hamza Haq), a charismatic Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine. He flees his war-torn homeland, and he and younger sister Amira (Sirena Gulamgaus) become refugees and struggle to forge a new life in Canada. Bash wants to be a doctor again, but he has to start over with his medical training. When a horrific truck crash nearly kills a senior doctor right in front of him, Bash saves the doctor’s life and earns a residency in the biggest Emergency Department of the best hospital in Toronto. The show also stars Laurence Leboeuf as Dr. Magalie Leblanc, John Hannah as Dr. Jed Bishop, Ayisha Issa as Dr. June Curtis, Jim Watson as Dr. Theo Hunter, and more. The series originally aired in early 2020 and now it’s airing on NBC. ‘Transplant’ has already been renewed for season 2.
