It’s time to party! The MTV Video Music Award were back in a big way in 2022, bringing together the hottest talent on the airwaves for one exceptional night of music. All of your favorites were live and in person at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Aug. 28: Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Lizzo — and so many more!
The night kicked off with the first big surprise: returning to the VMAs stage after a long break, Fergie stepped out to perform her smash hit ‘First Class’ with nominee, host, and performance Jack Harlow, who samples her track on his own smash hit of the same name.

Blackpink
Before walking away with several big awards, Blackpink performed “Pink Venom” for the very first time at the MTV Video Music Awards. No surprise, they got a standing ovation!
Lizzo
It’s about damn time! Lizzo performed a medley of her new hits off her album ‘Special’ at the MTV Video Music Awards and looked so thrilled to be hitting the stage, it was hard not to love the sight of her! Get it, girl!
Avril Lavigne
There might not have been any sk8r bois in the audience, but Avril Lavigne was on hand to present at the 2022 VMAs.
LL Cool J
LL Cool J held it down as host of the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, getting the audience riled up for an epic night of music. He was joined in hosting duties by Jack Harlow and Nicki Minaj.

HOT! Ryan Castro & J Balvin performed “Nivel de Perreo” at the MTV Video Music Awards, bringing fans to their feet with an electic performance.
Lil Nas X
The first big winner of the night, Lil Nas X accepted the award for best collaboration for “Industry Baby” at the MTV Video Music Awards. Looks like he also narrowly escaped a wardrobe malfuntion! Yikes!
Nicki Minaj
The Barbz are in the house! Nicki Minaj is pretty in pink as she performs a medley of her greatest hits in honor of her Video Vanguard award.
Lizzo
Lizzo took home the Video for Good award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards for ‘About Damn Time’ video. The diva used her time on stage to share a message to young voters in the audience and seemingly respond to comedian Aries Spears’ fat-shaming comments that recently went viral.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Anthony Kiedis and Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers got the crowd to its feet for an eletric performance at the VMAs.
Sofia Carson
Sofia Carson looked like a prayer as she presented the award for best K-Pop at the MTV Video Music Awards to Lisa.

Looking to her BLACKPINK lovelies for loved, Lisa accepted the award for best K-Pop for “LALISA” at the MTV Video Music Awards.
