The documents cite “irreconcilable differences” in the split and say the couple separated in November, even though it wasn’t announced until the following month. Yolanda is also seeking spousal support and legal fees from her multimillionaire ex. The reality star has already had to downsize her life, leaving behind the couple’s stunning Malibu mansion – which has now been sold – for a three bedroom condo in a high-rise close to Beverly Hills.
“We had a beautiful love story that I will treasure forever. Unfortunately it was not strong enough to withstand the circumstances that came our way,” Yolanda said on Dec. 9 when she called in to Watch What Happens Live. “The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability, so rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shed the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times,” during their nearly decade long relationship.
Poor Yolanda contracted chronic Lyme Disease less than a year after the couple’s November 11, 2011 wedding. She spent the better part of their wedded union sick, in bed, or undergoing various treatments to stop her ailment. Contrary to some reports, she has said David was a pillar of strength for her throughout her illness.
