Wilmer Valderrama Devastated Over Chris Carney’s Death: I’m ‘Truly Hurt’

Wilmer Valderrama posted a sweet, heartbreaking message on Instagram about the death of his dear friend, Chris Carney. It's been one day since Chris perished in a car crash, and the wounds are still incredibly raw for his friends and family. Chris Carney was best friends with Wilmer Valderrama; his wife, Tiffany Thornton, and Wilmer's girlfriend, Demi Lovato, co-starred on Disney's Sonny with a Chance for years, after all. The close couples did everything together, and the loss of Chris has hit Wilmer hard. He posted a heartfelt tribute to his late friend on Instagram December 5 detailing everything that made him special.

“I truly find it not real to be writing this.. It truly hurts for so many reasons,” Wilmer wrote on Instagram. “I took yesterday to process your passing Chris.. Mainly cause above all that you were, you were a real a surviver.. Someone that studied God’s word, and became a soldier for his message.. You lived the life of a king no matter what the circumstances..

“You would be there for ANYONE no matter WHAT..You had and will always have one of the most amazing, caring, patient and loving Queens (@tiffthornton) anyone could ever hope to be with.. She will raise the two beautiful boys you both share with the love and loyalty that you had for life.. And as a Godfather I will look after then and help them remember your spirit and heart. I love you Chris, I’ll see you in our next round at living.. Ps. This pic makes me laugh, because of course you have to try to blow up a turkey every year.. #RIPChrisCarney

So many tears! Wilmer met Chris through Demi, who stayed incredibly close with Tiffany after their days on the Disney Channel. Demi was even a bridesmaid in their wedding in 2011! Chris passed away on Friday, December 3 when the car he was riding in as a passenger hit a tree after missing a curve. He was in his hometown of Hot Springs, Arkansas, where his mother is the mayor, and Tiffany has her own highly-regarded radio show.

Demi tweeted her own thoughts and prayers for Chris when she heard the news. “I’m still in shock and I can’t believe I’m writing this but #RIPChrisCarney.. You’re already missed. We love you.” We can’t imagine what everyone who loved Chris is going through right now. RIP, Chris.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Wilmer, and all of Chris’ loved ones during this difficult time.
