January 20, 2021 marked the dawning of a new day in America. After four years of Donald Trump in the White House, the United States prepared for the inauguration of the 46 th President, Joe Biden. As the sun began to rise over Washington D.C., the day was rife with potential – and history. Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s Vice President, was set to make history as the first female official to hold that title (she would also be the first Black and first South Asian woman to be elected to the Vice President’s office.)
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2021 Inauguration was less populated than previous events, but it still carried some of the pomp and circumstance that the moment called for. The festivities began the night before with some pre-Inauguration events.
