Sharna Burgess poses during a photoshoot. Sharna is a professional dancer best known as a pro-partner on ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ She was born in New South Wales, Australia and learning ballroom dancing at the age of eight. She went on to win numerous local and national competition before moving to London when she was 18. She toured with troupes for ‘Simply Ballroom’ and ‘Burn the Floor.’ She went on to appear on Australia’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ before being recruited to join the U.S. version in season 13 as a troupe member. She was promoted to pro partner in 2016, getting paired with comedian Andy Dick. Sharna remained on the show through season 27, when she won the Mirrorball trophy with popular radio personality Bobby Bones. His win was controversial as his scores were consistently low and his dancing ability nowhere close to his competitors. But his wildly popular fan base called in their votes each week, sealing him the win. Sharna wasn’t on the list of pro’s announced for season 28 on Aug. 21, 2019. She was heartbroken and wrote on her Instagram, ‘I am unbelievably sad to not be back!!! However, what i can whole heartedly tell you is that It’s all good, ALL love and in this moment I can’t help but be grateful for the time and the journey that I’ve had, the people I’ve met, the incredible talent I’ve shared the stage with and the memories I’ve made.’
